Immersed in the Community

An engaging video and immersive VR mobile app showcase vision for new community.

Cicada created a Virtual Reality (VR) app and marketing video to highlight the key aspects of a new community design to potential builders and investors.

The VR app was custom developed for mobile headset so our client could take it with them to trade shows and meetings. Additionally, a version of the VR tour was provided to integrate on their website. A stand-alone video further demonstrates the public environments and lifestyle to be created in this new downtown  core.

Video Presentation

Website Design & Integration

The VR application was created as tour of the proposed downtown development. This was developed to be embedded in the corporate website for the region such that it could be shared the publicly on desktop screens.

Navigating Space

An interactive map was developed to navigate the Clairmont VR environment, using both a headset and onscreen. This gave an option to tour the downtown be either being immersed in the space using hotspots, or through the bird's eye view of the map.

DEDICATED APP DEVELOPMENT: AN EMPHASIS ON MOBILITY

Used as a communication tool for potential investors, tenants or builders, a dedicated VR app was created for Gear VR headsets which allowed the VR experience to be truly portable. This became an incredibly powerful tool to give a true first-person experience of the new downtown’s design.

Customized Architecture

In-house building designs from conceptual drawings were created using custom modeling tools to create highly detailed environments, adding further realism to the VR experience.

Transforming Environments

Various conditions of weather, time of day and uses of public spaces were central to portraying the sense of community in the proposed downtown development. These effects could be seen in certain moments in the VR application, and were especially important in the storytelling aspect of the video presentation.
